What is BONCE?
BONCE is a British charades and forehead guessing party game for iPhone. Hold your phone on your forehead while friends describe the word on screen. Tilt down for a correct answer and up to pass.
Is BONCE a UK alternative to Heads Up!?
BONCE uses the familiar phone-on-forehead guessing format, with British TV, food, slang, seaside places and other UK references. It is an independent game from Shenanigans Games and is not affiliated with Heads Up!
Can we play traditional charades?
Yes. Choose the free Act It Out deck for a round of miming without spoken clues. Other decks use descriptions and clues from your friends.
How much does BONCE cost?
The planned UK price is £3.99 for a one-time Full Unlock. Downloading the app and playing British Food & Drink and Act It Out will be free. There are no ads or subscriptions. The planned waiting-list Full Unlock price is £3.19, subject to final Apple price setup.
Do we all need an iPhone or Wi-Fi?
For playing together in the same room, you only need one iPhone. The bundled decks work offline after download. Downloading the app, purchasing and restoring purchases need an internet connection.
Can I make my own categories?
Yes. Full Unlock includes unlimited private custom decks. Write categories about your friends, your family, a hen do or an office party.
When does BONCE launch?
BONCE is planned to launch on 3 October 2026 at 5pm UK time (British Summer Time). App Store availability depends on Apple approval and rollout. We will email confirmed subscribers when the app is available.
Will joining the waiting list automatically download or buy the app?
No. Joining the email list does not place an order, download an app or authorise a charge. Automatic downloading requires a separate App Store pre-order, if offered. Apple asks you to confirm any paid purchase.
Will the discount be linked to my Apple email address?
The planned offer is sent to your verified waiting-list email for you to redeem through Apple. Apple does not match a website waiting-list email to your Apple Account automatically. Your Apple purchase is attached to the Apple Account you use to redeem it.
Is BONCE coming to Android?
This launch is for iPhone. An Android release has not been announced.
